A Year of Transformation

In Fiscal Year 2024, the University of Arizona’s CIO Division made significant strides in aligning technology initiatives with institutional priorities, emphasizing operational efficiency, strategic investment, and innovation. This report outlines our key performance metrics and strategic accomplishments, reflecting our continued commitment to supporting the university’s mission through secure, resilient, and forward-looking information technology services.

Our division supported a high level of research activity, with 545 principal investigators actively using high-performance computing (HPC) systems and 1,320 researchers overall leveraging our advanced computing resources. In the academic space, we enabled the creation of over 14,500 course sites within the university’s learning management system, serving more than 45,000 active users and facilitating modern, flexible teaching and learning. Support Services maintained a strong user-centered approach, resolving over 75,000 help desk tickets with an average resolution time of just 2.5 hours—demonstrating our commitment to responsive and effective service delivery.

These performance outcomes reflect the strength of our realigned teams, the impact of modernized infrastructure, and our dedication to a service model rooted in accessibility, collaboration, and innovation. We are proud of the progress made this year and remain focused on delivering technology solutions that advance the academic, research, and operational goals of the University of Arizona.
